Course Overview

The Basic Instructor Course provides law enforcement professionals with the essential skills required to effectively train and develop officers in a classroom setting. This TCOLE-approved course focuses on adult learning theory, lesson plan development, presentation skills, and evaluation techniques to ensure consistent, high-quality training delivery.

Participants will learn how to structure lesson plans, engage diverse learners, and integrate instructional aids while maintaining TCOLE compliance. Graduates of this course will meet the requirements to apply for the TCOLE Instructor Proficiency Certificate and are qualified to teach law enforcement training throughout Texas.
